<p><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Arial;">Using the right resume formatting is also as important as the contents of your resume. The formatting of a resume can be interpreted as either the way the content of the resume is arranged or the approach to the resume’s organization according to how it should be presented to its recipient. Both factors are very important in making a comprehensive resume.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Arial;">Here are some tips on formatting your resume:</span></p>
<ul type="DISC">
<li><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Arial;">Avoid using tabs or spaces when creating spaces between the texts. Instead, use the alignment and indent features of the Microsoft Word.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Arial;">Always use standard fonts. The readability of your resume is very important. Non-standard fonts may result to a funky look on your resume which may be unreadable to an employer. It is highly recommended to use standard fonts such as Arial, Verdana or Times New Roman.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Arial;">Avoid the use of graphics or text as bullets. Instead, use the bullet formatting of the Microsoft Word. Using horizontal lines on a resume should also be regulated. These formatting elements may not be properly converted when the resume is transcribed to another format.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Arial;">Refrain from using logos, graphics or images. These objects on your resume may cause formatting issues when converted to HTML.</span></li>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span>There is a wide need for the functional resume format, especially when there are countless individuals who have limited job history and a work background that is inappropriate for the job applied for. However, many employers disdain this resume format. As a result, job seekers have devised a format that works basically like the functional format but with a little deviation. Adding the work experience in the end becomes a necessary requirement to show that you at least have a work experience. The functional format plus the work experience in a chronological order is called the Chrono-functional resume format.</span><span> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span>The Chrono-functional format works ultimately like a functional format. After stating the career objective and educational background, the skills are presented in clusters. In each skill or performance, short descriptions follow in order to support the claimed skill. After listing all your essential skills, a short account of your work history is presented in a chronological order. The latest employment details must come first, with the job title, employer, and the time frame. Other jobs taken may also be listed. However, if you have past jobs that do not seem relevant to your preferred career, you may omit them. After this list, you may proceed writing your personal information and references, if needed.</span><span> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span>One strategy in constructing the best chrono-functional resume format is to consider the skills needed in the job that you are applying for. Compare them with your own set of skills, activities joined, and work experiences. For instance, you are applying for a marketing position where you have to communicate with clients. In this case, background in marketing may be necessary, but good communication skills are also preferred. In order to stress that you are fit for the job, list details of your skills and job history that are relevant to communication skill. A call center agent job may emphasize that skill even if it is not a corporate job. </span><span> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span>The chrono-functional format can also be a good marketing tool. Aside from establishing that you have an experience even if it is not that relevant, you are able to show your diverse skills, which are otherwise not evident in the standard resume format. Of course, no resume format is good when it is not written clearly and concisely. The best resume is still being able to showcase yourself in a well-versed manner, no matter what the format is.</span><span> </span></p>

It suits people who are in a particular career for a long time, but it also works best for those who take different jobs in various career fields. This resume allows them to construct their resume with emphasis on the range of their career growth and their particular career path. Since it will function as your important representation, whatever the purpose, it is essential to express your career in a very professional manner.</span><span> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span>Format for this resume is also similar to a standard resume. The way it is written, however, is taken to great consideration. You usually start with a brief summary of your current profile. It describes what you do and is further broken down into specific functions or details of your job in bullet points or in a short paragraph. At the very beginning of your resume, your progress is already seen. For instance, you are currently a vice president of a certain department. Your duties, as they are listed, allow reader to convey that you have been in that career for quite a while already. </span><span> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span>The next part discusses your work experience in a chronological manner. Job titles, company names, and inclusive dates must be written on top of each entry. Concise description of what you do or what you have done must follow. It may be in a paragraph form, as long as only the important details are presented. This entry may consist of basic functions performed, strategies devised, and how many people work for you. Moreover, in the specific jobs that you currently have and have had in the past, you must tackle carefully your areas of expertise. This means that you focus on discussing your key skills in each job and position. This allows the reader to see what kind of a professional you are. </span><span> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span>Furthermore, achievements, awards, and certifications when you are in that position must also be listed after your job descriptions so that a reader will know how effective you are in that job. All the other jobs you have taken must also be listed. They do not necessarily be in the same career field. Having different types of jobs portray you as a diverse individual capable of not just one skill.</span><span> </span></p>

This way, you have a high chance of getting the interview for your dream job.</span><span> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span>A functional resume format is written by organizing abilities, skills, and functions in clusters. You first write your educational background including the school you attended and the date of entry. A short list of achievements and extra-curricular activities while in school follows in bullet points. The next cluster would be your own set of unique skills. The top most skill should reflect your best quality. Beneath that is a list of all your knowledge, experiences, and achievements in that particular field. Strategically, however, you may replace that with the skill that is most needed in the job that you are applying for so that they can easily see that you are fit for the job. Your other skills and performances must follow in the same layout. </span><span> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span>Finally, your brief work history, if you have any, is listed at the bottom of your resume. In some cases, however, past employments are intentionally omitted. This is strategic and in a way, deceiving, especially when you think that your work experiences are not relevant at all to the job that you want.
